Context presentation feedback

Context communication

The problems, as they had been presented, were slightly vague to listeners who did not know the entirety of the context of the interview. Although this is mainly an issue when presenting, the conclusion can be drawn that the design challenge, or the problem that is to be solved should be communicated clearly and concisely. As another listener pointed out, this could be partly solved by better visualizing these problems.

Broadness of the design challenge

Partly related to the first point, the design challenge that is ahead could be narrowed down slightly, to avoid taking on too big of a challenge and risk creating a product that is only vaguely related to the actual core of the problem.

Including the child

When designing a product, it is easy to have it largely influenced by the mother. This is important, because fundamentally, the goal is to help make her life easier in a sense. But throughout this, the child should never leave the picture and should play a role in shaping the product. This can be done through research, or by having the child use the prototype and analyze potential points of improvement.

Design challenge

To avoid overwhelming the case owner, not too many concept directions should be presented to them, as this could cause them to be indecisive. Only a small selection of design directions should be offered as possibilities.
